RICHARD CHARLIE is a performance piece born from the deep desire to give and receive affection through art. Elisa and Nacho, creators and performers, recognize themselves as seekers: searching for ways to love each other well, to share what is theirs, to inhabit the common with honesty.

Inspired by two real-life characters from the Asturian town of La Pola Siero—Richard, the fruit seller, and Charlie, the bricklayer—this work plays with the border between the real and the imagined. Elisa and Nacho are Richard and Charlie, but they are also not. They are themselves, bringing their world, their laboratory of life and creation, to the stage.

The structure of the piece spans four moments:
– A physical presentation with music and singing.
– The “How to love bonito manual” as a scenic and emotional guide.
– A choreographic unison that seeks synchrony beyond the body.
– And a final union, improvised, always different, always present.

The creative methodology is built from the body, everyday objects, toys, instruments... Everything that inhabits their lives becomes part of the stage. Each performance is unique: a new possibility of encounter, a different way of affecting each other and the audience.

RICHARD CHARLIE is, above all, an act of love. An attempt to share what we are when we allow ourselves to be touched by another.

Creation and performance: Elisa Medina and Nacho Cárcaba.
